GA Industries SURGE SENTINEL Surge Anticipator Valves use an electronic control panel to open the valve in response to surge producing events such as power outage or abnormally low pressure due to a sudden stoppage of pumping. Upon detecting such an event, the control panel’s 24VDC power supply actuates a valve mounted solenoid to immediately open the surge valve in anticipation of the returning high pressure surge wave. The valve stays fully open for the duration adjusted on the control panel’s digital surge wave timer and slowly closes after the timer expires and the surge is dissipated.
Surge Sentinel Anticipator Valves are available from 3" to 24" (75mm to 600mm). Refer to Bulletin ESP-17 or contact the factory for more information.
GA Industries application engineers will size and select the proper Surge Sentinel Anticipator Valve and/or surge relief valve upon receipt of a completed "Surge Analysis Checklist."
