More than a century of quality
and excellence...
COMPANY
HISTORY
GA Industries, LLC was founded in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA in 1895
by Edward Golden and Charles Anderson as "Golden-Anderson Valve & Specialty
Company." The earliest products were valves for boiler works and railroads.
By 1956 the founders were deceased and the company was purchased by a
small group of executive management who focused on the needs of the growing
municipal water and wastewater market.
In 1974 the company was incorporated as GA Industries, Inc. and in 1979
moved into new facilities in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania approximately
25 miles (40 km) north of Pittsburgh.
A
second manufacturing plant was opened in 1984 in Mars, Pennsylvania
to accommodate the increased demand for GA products.
GA Industries, Inc. entered its second century in 1995 marked by the
acquisition of Rodney Hunt Company,
Orange, Massachusetts. The union of these two renowned companies produced
the world's most comprehensive product line of valves, sluice gates and
actuation systems for water and wastewater control.
On February 1, 2008, GA Industries, Inc. and its subsidiary Rodney Hunt
Company were acquired by Zurn Industries,
LLC, a business unit of Rexnord
Industries, LLC. The acquisition not only expanded Zurn's presence
in the water and wastewater markets but also strengthened GA Industries'
position as a world leader in the engineering, manufacturing and delivery
of high quality products to meet the changing needs of the municipal,
hydropower and industrial water market.
