GA Industries, LLC was founded in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1895 by Charles E. Golden and Edward V. Anderson as "Golden-Anderson Valve & Specialty Company." The earliest products were valves for boiler works and railroads. In 1956 the company was purchased by a small group of executive management who focused on the needs of the growing municipal water and wastewater market.
GA Industries entered its second century in 1995 marked by the acquisition of Rodney Hunt Company in Orange, Massachusetts. The union of these two renowned companies produced the world's most comprehensive product line of valves, sluice gates, and actuation systems for water and wastewater control.
In February 2008, GA Industries was acquired by Zurn Industries, LLC, a business unit of Rexnord Industries.
In October 2011, Rexnord acquired VAG, a successful international gate and valve manufacturer.
Early 2016, GA Industries LLC changed its legal name to VAG USA, LLC., to reflect the wider portfolio of products, services and solutions now available to customer in the field of water and wastewater, for dams and hydro power, industry and power plants. VAG looks forward to continuing to work with industry to develop solutions for industry and municipal applications.
