GA Industries surge arrestor valves utilize the Golden-Anderson® differential piston main valve and a standard three-pilot system:
- Subnormal Pilot opens main valve fully on "downsurge"
- Hydraulic Time Delay Pilot determines how long main valve stays fully open
- Abnormal Pilot opens main valve as needed to limit pressure rise due to "upsurge"
These valves are available in sizes 2-1/2" to 24" (65mm to 600mm) and furnished standard ANSI Class 125 or 250 flanged cast iron body, bronze vee-port trim and Buna-N renewable seat for pressures to 400 PSI (2,756 KPa).
Compared to surge relief valves, the selection, sizing and application of surge arrestor valves is a complicated process. Consult factory or submit Surge Checklist for assistance.
GA Industries surge arrestor valves are available with ISO/EN flanges.
The basic surge arrestor valve can be supplied with optional features and accessories to accommodate the requirements of almost any system.

GA Industries "Surge Sentinel©" Sewage Surge Anticipator valves utilize a main valve especially designed for use with sewage, wastewater, raw water and other debris-laden fluids. The main valve is actuated by a hydraulic cylinder using clean water pressure and operated by electro-hydraulic pilot controls and the "Surge Sentinel©" electronic control panel.
- Pressure switch contacts close on "downsurge" and/or power outage
- Surge Sentinel© energizes 24VDC solenoid to fully open main valve
- Digital timer in Surge Sentinel© determines how long main valve stays fully open
- Main valve slowly closes when timer expires
- Abnormal Pilot opens main valve as needed to limit pressure rise due to "upsurge"
These valves are available in sizes 3" to 16" (75mm to 400mm) and furnished standard ANSI Class 125 or 250 flanged cast iron body, non-corrosive trim and resilient seat for pressures to 400 PSI (2,756 KPa).
